I bought this teapot set at a well known store. I know it's a generic set and it cost 40 dollars. The teapot seems to be made out of clay. I know it came from a mold because I can see a faint line. Also what does the chinese writing mean? Thanks For any information mike
Thanks for the info, I researched that maker and it seems legit. As far as chemicals, I brew in it, but before I did that I gave it a good cleaning and boiled it as per the Yixing method. I really cannot find anything on the net to show that it is unsafe to drink from, but if you have source please let me know. Thanks Mike
Thank you for your pictures. The tea set seems made from a well known tea ware company from Taiwan. I can't tell if it has chemicals or not by looking at the pictures. The good idea is season it before using.
The two character on the teapot: 陶然 is original from 晋 陶潜 《时运》诗：“邈邈遐景，载欣载瞩。称心而言，人亦易足。挥兹一觴，陶然自乐。 meaning: happy and carefree
poem on the teapot: 古今多少事，都付笑谈中; 《三国演义》滚滚长江东逝水，浪花淘尽英雄。是非成败转头空， 青山依旧在，几度夕阳红。 白发渔樵江渚上，惯看秋月春风。一壶浊酒喜相逢，古今多少事，都付笑谈中。 It is original from"Romance of the Three Kingdoms"
meaning: It is better to keep an open mind with respect to right and wrong or success and failure, when evaluating historical developments.
