Daniel, I have not seen these teapots at your store. The one on the left looks like an older style but might be a reproduction made later, which was very popular in the 80's. The one on the right looks like a slightly coarser clay and not as finely finished. I'm going with the one on the right as I'm betting this was made to be an everyday pot and nothing special whereas the one on the left looks like the finishing is bit finer.
I think the one on the left is older. It looks less perfect, (e.g. the lid isn't perfectly round and tight-fitting, there is an irregular indentation on the knob of the lid...). The pot on the right looks like a standard "shui ping" style pot, with a shaped spout and a shaped handle that were added to the body and then blended in like many modern pots of this style. What's the right answer?
